Having a right relationship with God seemed to be an impossible order. My chaotic past had left me filled with guilt and remorse and I wondered  how this “God business” could work. A.A. told me that I must turn my will and my life over to the care of God, as I understand Him. With nowhere else to turn, I went down on my knees and cried, “God, I can’t do this. Please help me!” It was when I admitted my powerlessness that a glimmer of light began to touch my soul, and then a willingness began to emerged to let God control my life. With Him as my guide, great events began to happen, and I found the beginning of sobriety.

Assurez-vous que vos relations avec Dieu sont bonnes et de grandes choses se produiront pour vous et pour un nombre incalculable d’autres personnes. Pour nous, c’est cela, la Grande Vérité.

Avoir de bonnes relations avec Dieu me semblait impossible. Mon passé m’avait rempli de culpabilité et de remords et je me demandais bien comment pourrait fonctionner cette « histoire de Dieu ». Les AA m’ont dit de confier ma volonté et ma vie à Dieu, tel que je le conçois. N’ayant pas d’autre choix, je me suis mis à genoux et j’ai crié : « Mon Dieu, je ne suis pas capable. Je t’en prie, aide-moi » C’est seulement au moment où j’ai admis mon impuissance qu’une petite lueur m’a effleuré l’âme et j’ai commencé à accepter de laisser Dieu se charger de ma vie. Avec Dieu comme guide, de grandes choses se sont produites et j’ai pu amorcer une vie sobre.
